Whether seeking solace in prayer, guidance in your spiritual journey, or simply a place to belong, Stella Maris offers a welcoming environment to deepen your relationship with God.
What to Expect At Stella Maris
Weekday masses are held at the Parish Centre Chapel above Stella Maris Church from Tuesday to Friday at 12:00 p.m. Weekend masses are typically held at Stella Maris Church unless otherwise announced. Saturday mass begins at 5:00 p.m., and Sunday mass begins at 11:00 a.m.
Mass usually lasts one hour. However, depending on the service (i.e. Good Friday) mass can take longer.
Please feel free to sit where you are most comfortable upon arriving at Stella Maris. We do not have assigned seating, so whether you prefer to sit in the front or back, it is entirely up to you.
Please don’t worry if you are unfamiliar with the prayers, responses, or songs during mass. Follow along with other parishioners or use a mass or choir book available at your seat. Once you have attended a few masses, the responses should become second-nature.
No, you do not have to give money during the collection. If you would like to donate online, please click here.
Catholics believe that the Eucharist is the body and blood of Christ, and it holds significant spiritual significance. However, there are circumstances where one may choose not to receive communion. For instance, if you’re not in a state of grace (having committed a serious sin without repentance and confession), it’s customary to refrain from receiving communion until you’ve received the sacrament of reconciliation (confession). Additionally, if you’re not Catholic or if you haven’t received the necessary sacraments of initiation (Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation), you’re generally not expected to receive communion.
After the service at Stella Maris Parish, we encourage parishioners to connect with one another and deepen their sense of community. You’re welcome to linger in the church for personal prayer or reflection, and feel free to introduce yourself to fellow parishioners. Many find engaging in conversation, exchanging greetings, and fostering new friendships within our parish family enriching.
